Fresh pasta, a family history

Fresh pasta, a family history

Great passions and an innovative idea, that's how it started. In 1937.

1937
Leandro Voltan, founder of the company, took over a small convenience store in the Venetian mainland, with a laboratory annexed that he converted into his very first pasta factory.
1959
It was Leandro Voltan who was the first in history to use the pasteurisation process on fresh pasta. As a result, he obtained a product with a longer shelf-life, better taste and better look. He then successfully applied for the patent, depositing it in Switzerland under no. 681372.
1969
The first industrial plant was built in Olmo di Martellago (Venice). Leandro, helped by his son, Giovanni, took the company from a small artisan business to an industrial concern, thanks also to the new long conservation methods that made it possible to produce in even larger quantities.
1980s-90s
The success of Voltan pasta and the continuous increase in demand brought the company to expand its structure: offices, warehouses, capacity and production lines were all doubled. At the same time the aim was also to diversify and multiply products. The logistic-distributive structure was optimised as well.
1995
With the aim of achieving “Total Quality”, a “quality system” was created, based on a research and development centre, with a laboratory covering 200 square metres. The company thus began a long and structured path towards excellence marked by the obtention of important certifications and numerous awards at national and international level.
2000
The entire decade was characterised by a strong growth and saw the company become one of the leading manufacturers in the pasta industry. New production sites and brands were acquired, including Emma Giordani and others.
2015
Voltan consolidated its national and international standing with the acquisition of Antica Pasteria, a company close to Milan with renowned international experience in the fresh pasta industry.
2017
2017
A long internationalisation process led the company to partecipate in the creation of Vita Food Group, a London-based holding company.
2019
The company has renewed its image and extended the range of Voltan branded products, all based on excellence and family tradition.
